Walmer Chapel
Thomas Treanor aged 37, came to Deal in 1878 to take up the calling of Chaplain of Missions to Seamen. He also became Secretary of the Downs branch of the RNLI. Here he displayed enormous Christian commitment, courage and compassion in an eventful life and recorded his seafaring exploits in three books, including “Heroes of the Goodwin Sands”
