We are delighted to welcome Scott Hall Church as a new partner church. Here is what they have to say about themselves:
Scott Hall Church was established in 1937 as an outreach to the newly developed Scott Hall council housing estate from a since closed Brethren assembly in Fenton Street, Leeds. The original timber building structure is still in place but will shortly be replaced with a purpose built annex to the 1972 structure. The former Hope Hall Assembly was inaugurated as a separate entity in the early 1950’s and continued as such until being reformed as Scott Hall Christian Fellowship in the 1980’s and latterly under it’s current name as an independent free evangelical church serving the surrounding community.
We have a real heart for taking the gospel message to what is an underprivileged and challenging district and with the small team of experienced and dedicated workers deliver a full weekly programme of services and activities for all ages. In addition to our Sunday worship service followed by a Family Service being our primary outreach, a typical weekly schedule will include an after school homework club, Bible study and prayer time, activity for young teenagers, discipleship study group and a monthly Lunch Club.
Recent additions to the membership have come from the community following acceptance of the gospel after little or no previous experience of church and many having had unfortunate experiences in life. They find a welcoming and loving congregation and a much needed support on their Christian journey.
The elders are convinced God has a continuing plan for Scott Hall but with a small and increasingly elderly team of leaders, we are praying for both guidance and new younger members to join with us to help fulfill the vision we have for this work.
