We are delighted to welcome 4 new churches to the Partnership Network, one of which is Redruth Baptist Church
This is how Andrew Chapple, senior elder at Redruth Baptist describes their history
“Redruth Baptist church began in 1802 and has had two different buildings in the town. The present one was built in 1873 and one C H Spurgeon paid off the last part of the debt!
The church continued in its ups and downs until 1967 when it was on the brink of closure, down to 6 people meeting monthly and no pastor.
Then God sent a teacher at the local grammar school who led many young people to the Lord, and it was saved. It has a current membership of 102 and is led by two elders both living by faith.
It seeks to be a strong bible believing church with an emphasis on expository preaching, youth and children’s work, lively worship, discipleship classes and regular outreach in the town.
We are so pleased as an independent church to join the fellowship of Partnership.
Redruth may not be a tourist location, but you are assured of a very warm welcome at any Sunday or midweek event.”
An amazing comeback… don’t you agree?
