We are very grateful to God that through this whole Covid-19 period we determined to continue the search for some more mission team members for Highgate International Church. So, as autumn dawned, we have been able to welcome David and Rachel Bell from N. Carolina and Maicol Umana from Valencia.
After the necessary quarantining and a due settling in period, David will be taking up the mission team leadership role from Mark Davies (GLO Europe Training Director), and Maicol will be helping to develop our community outreach. They will be part of the leadership team of HIC along with the existing leaders, including Mark at least for the next 9 months, as we continue the journey of revitalising one the oldest London churches in the Partnership network. ‘Cholmeley’ was established in the late 1800’s!
Obviously, we are currently a small church, not having the resources to salary workers; but, blessed with property assets, we are able to provide accommodation for these new workers. David and Rachel are commended missionaries supported from their home church in the US and Maicol will be self-supporting through some business work he is developing. He will also help us look at the greater use of our buildings both for community outreach purposes as well as increasing income.
Strategically speaking, we are having to make the necessary adjustments given the Covid environment we are in, but we believe it is a good time to welcome new workers to help us develop ways to make a more effective impact for Christ in the local communities around us, as well as developing the missional outreach dimensions of the lives of all in our fellowship.
Mark Davies (GLO-Europe Training Director)
